ISNULL() in sql

Select pfsalary from EmployeePayroll where EmpCode = '007'

output is : null

if employee 007 having NULL in pfsalary then output would be null

but we want if pfsalary is null then output should be zero.

Select ISNULL(pfsalary,0) from EmployeePayroll where EmpCode = '007'

now output is : 0
